General Eligibility Criteria

Women meeting each of the following criteria will be considered for inclusion in the study: 

  • Have at least one biological child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis. Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnoses include: autistic disorder, aspergers syndrome, or pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD NOS)
  • Living within an EARLI Network geographic area, as defined by each study site
  • Fluency in English
These women can pre-enroll and be followed for pregnancy. Intensity of follow-up will vary with individual level of pregnancy risk.
 

Women meeting any of the following criteria will be excluded from the study: 

  • Not at risk for pregnancy (e.g., sterility, hysterectomy, menopause, sterile partner)
  • More than 28 weeks pregnant at initial recruitment contact
  • Planned relocation outside of study site catchment area within the next 3 years
  • Diagnosis of at least one biological child is not confirmed/verified as autistic disorder, aspergers syndrome or PDD NOS at an EARLI study clinic
